Free online tools that make remote working easier (which I’m sure you don’t know about!)

Let’s be honest, we’re all familiar with Zoom, Slack and Google Drive. These tools are already widely used by companies, even in the day-to-day running of an office.

But when it comes to remote working, in addition to these online meeting and organisation tools, there are others that, although they may not seem like it at first glance, have made our jobs easier! 🤩

That’s why today we’re bringing you some hidden treasures from the digital world that will greatly improve your day-to-day remote work. 👇

🔇 Krisp.ai – Say goodbye to background noise

Have you ever been in an important meeting and suddenly your dog decides to play a concert, or your neighbour starts breaking walls like there’s no tomorrow? 🙄

Krisp is your saviour! This magical tool cancels out background noise in online calls, ensuring that only your voice is heard. The free version offers 60 minutes a day, perfect for those key meetings with your team or that important meeting with a client.

🍃 Noisli – You choose your working environment

Concentrating at home can be a challenge with all the noise around us: the washing machine, the cars and the building works next door. 😫

Noisli lets you create the perfect soundscape with combinations of nature sounds, busy cafés or even the relaxing crackle of a fireplace. 😌 Even experiment with mixing sounds and find out what works best for you.

🧑‍💻 Focusmate – Your virtual productivity mates

Need a little push to stay focused? Does it help when you have someone with you who is focused too?

Focusmate connects you with a person in 50-minute sessions, where you each do your own tasks, but with extra motivation! It’s like having a colleague next to you, but without the interruptions to talk about the weather. The free version allows for three sessions a week, ideal for those days when procrastination kicks in.

📹 Loom – Replace long messages with quick videos

Instead of writing giant messages or emails explaining something, why not record a short video?

Loom lets you record the screen and your voice, so you can explain and show something simply and efficiently to your colleagues or clients! Plus, you’ll feel like you’re giving a TEDx talk. 🤓

🔒 Bitwardeb – Keep your passwords safe

With so many accounts and passwords to memorise, it’s easy to lose track (and no, using ‘password123’ for everything isn’t safe!).

Bitwarden is a free, open-source password manager that keeps all your credentials in one place, protected and accessible only by you. So you only need to remember one password! 😉

🗒️ Milanote – Your digital whiteboard

If you work in a creative field or simply like to organise tasks and ideas visually, Milanote is ideal!

Imagine an infinite whiteboard where you can add notes, images, links and much more. The free version is very generous and allows you to create several projects.

📝 Fathom – No more handwritten notes

Have you ever taken notes in a meeting so quickly so you don’t get lost, and then you don’t even understand what you’ve written down? 🙃

Fathom is an add-on that works on Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet, which transcribe your meetings in real time and automatically highlights the key points. After the meeting, you get a detailed summary that you can review and even share with whoever you want.

💡 Scribe – Become a pro at tutorials

Need to create a step-by-step guide for your team or clients?

Scribe does it for you! Just perform the task and it automatically generates a complete tutorial with text and screenshots. It’s a quick and easy way to document processes without wasting too much time!

🏢 Tandem – Your virtual office

Does your team miss working together?

Tandem recreates the feeling of being in the office with your team, even from a distance. You can see who’s available, start conversations, share screens and even create themed ‘rooms’. It’s a way of maintaining the spontaneous collaboration that us often lost in remote working.

With these new tools, remote working becomes not only more productive, but also more fun and engaging!

But don’t forget:

Despite all these incredible tools, nothing replaces a real inspirational environment and the energy of being surrounded by creative people. Coworking spaces, such as Fusion Cowork, are a great option for those who work remotely, offering a professional space, networking opportunities and that extra motivation that’s hard to find at home!

Come and try it out! 😊
