Coworking

6 myths about coworking

The concept of coworking and coworking spaces aren’t very old. The first official coworking space appeared in 2005 in San Francisco, and since then it has become “fashionable”.

Over the years this concept has spread around the world and many independent professionals and companies have opted for this method of working. But there are still many myths about coworking.

Today we’re going to demystify them! 😎

No privacy

Since coworking spaces are usually open spaces, where people and companies from different areas work in a common space and sometimes even at shared desks, there is the idea that there is no privacy.

But this is a myth! Coworking spaces offer private rooms where their coworkers or guests can work in a quieter and more private environment.

At Fusion Cowork we have 3 rooms of different sizes where you can work, hold meetings and even give workshops or lectures.

The space doesn’t have a good structure

People may think that a coworking space is just the physical space where they can work, but it’s actually much more than that. A good coworking space offers all the conditions for its coworkers to feel as comfortable as possible and not have to worry about anything other than their work.

Good conditions, good lighting, a desk, good internet, private rooms, a printer, lockers, reception and a lounge area are just a few examples of the essentials that Fusion Cowork guarantees.

Distraction due to noise

Despite being a shared space where many people are working, having meetings, talking to the rest of the team or simply exchanging ideas and experiences with each other, everyone present in a coworking space should be aware of the rules and respect them. Mutual respect must be a constant among coworkers.

In Fusion Cowork, we have a Code of Conduct on the website available to everyone, which stipulates certain rules for the best functioning of the space.

Facilitates procrastination

It may seem that working in a shared space, with flexibility and commodity, will lead to less work and more talking. But in fact, in a coworking space, professionals are usually entrepreneurs, motivated and committed to their business and are able to create a balance between work and leisure.

Furthermore, one of the main advantages of working in a coworking space is the possibility of increasing your networking. Sharing ideas and experiences is not only welcome but also beneficial to your work.

Unsafe environment

A space that is open to so many people can seem insecure, but that’s not the case. In order for coworkers to feel safe and for all relationships to develop properly, coworking spaces must have a structure directed towards the safety of the place and of everyone.

A good security system for entrances and exits, reception, lockers and security cameras are just a few examples of essential elements. Fusion is no exception!

Only for technology companies

Since in the beginning the concept of coworking spaces was essentially aimed at start-ups, there is a misconception that these spaces are exclusively for technology companies and similar.

The truth is that anyone and any company can work in a coworking space. You just have to want to! Technology, communication, accountancy, writers, lawyers, consultants, etc. There’s room for everyone.
